National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners supports PACE

At its February 2011 Winter Committee Meetings in Washington, D.C., the Board of Directors of NARUC issued a strongly worded Resolution supporting PACE and calling on the FHFA to “rescind or substantially amend [its] policies and guidelines that substantially impede the viability of PACE programs”.

Founded in 1889, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to representing the State public service commissions who regulate the utilities that provide essential services such as energy, telecommunications, water, and transportation.

NARUC’s members include all fifty States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Most State commissioners are appointed to their positions by their Governor or Legislature, while commissioners in 13 States are elected.

Pike Research Survey Shows 42% of Homeowner’s have Strong Interest in PACE

In a survey of homeowners conducted by Pike Research, 42% said they would be “extremely” or “very” interested in using PACE for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.  Only about a quarter of those surveyed said they had no interest, with the remainder undecided.  Of those not interested, 30% of the respondents said they really didn’t understand PACE and 19% reported their home was already energy efficient.  The full report can be accessed here…..accessed here.

US Judicial Panel Refuses to Consolidate PACE Litigation

NLC and NACO Call for Federal Legislation to Restore PACE for Residential Programs
